[CH] The SOCal Hotluck & the bread

The SoCal hotluck was great! An interesting collection of characters, I
don't think you would have found a group like this anywhere except
California.... We had a great time and if all the attendees will e-mail me
the recipes, I'll get them posted on the web page (and announce it here
when ready).

WARNING: DO NOT EAT THE BREAD ON AN EMPTY STOMACH! I took some to a friend
who really likes spicy food, told him it was truly hot, to take a small
piece, VERY small piece. He's been on a diet (mostly cabbage soup), and
had not eaten that morning. He ate a little-bitty nibble of the bread. Ten
minutes later, he began sweating profusely and nearly passed out. He's
okay now, had some milk, ate some food, etc, but he is still not feeling
too well several hours later. Also, if you go to a hotluck (and you
should, you really really should), save the bread for the end. It's good,
but the heat of everything else will pale in comparison.

For those attending the Fiery Foods Show, we'll be there also! Look
forward to meeting everyone who can make it. And we'll make sure that Jim
Campbell has some "I Survived the Bread" buttons to pass out to
chile-heads (who, hopefully, won't pass out after eating the bread).
