I've had the same problem this morning!  I use a MAC and Netscape Communicator (4.0).

My workaround was to copy the recipe, paste it into a "Simple Text" page and
then print it.  If you just print the email message you can end up with 2 or 3
pages with extraneous text.

I tried to copy and then print what I had copied.  Didn't work.  Years ago
when I subscribed to CompuServe, I think I could print out just the copied portion.
