Hmmmmm,

There's nothing illegal with sending free stuff through the mail,
especially to those who have requested the free stuff.  Therefore,
Calvin, I'll accept 3 bottles of free powder to promote your research of
the beneficial effects of hotstuff.  Please accept my check to cover
handling and shipping charges, or if you prefer, you may donate it to
your favorite charity.

I am also engagd in the same sort of academic research as you Calvin,
and I'm in dire need of research materials, namely your Powder.
