I also found the habs in the Yucutan to be superbly pungent.  I attributed
it to being grown in a climate they liked.

The local salsa was roasted habs, lime juice (ooh, those sweet little
Yucutan limes.  DEFINATELY an accessory any well stocked Twister fan would
have on hand...) and salt.

A Yucutan moment- Small little beach palapa/cantina on Isla Mujeres.   "
Muy picante, senor."    " Si, si." Picks up the cup of salsa, eats the
whole thing on 4 chips (small cup...) .  Waiter's eyes go big, and the
salsa was never empty for the rest of the night, and the cold beers just
kept coming.  Man, thats living...
