Adam Smith's theories also fail to take into account marketing - the 
creation of brand awareness and brand preference.

And, as a marketing prof. myself, I constantly remind my co-workers that 
marketing has nothing to do with the truth.  It is a perception game - 
and perception drives sales.

Something like, "lie to them and they will come."
