Yeah, that's one of many "non-English" words that are mispronounced
every day, like:
rodeo - ro-dayo
Chicago - Chick-ago (an Indian name)
Des Plaines - Day Plane (the s's are silent)
and then there's the English words. . .
Washington (wash) - Warshington (warsh). . .B-)
