The Red Savina Habanero was discovered in a normal Habanero field by 
Frank Garcia of GNS Spices in California. It was patented and the 
seed is sold exclusively by Shepherds Seeds. The Red Savina was 
tested at about 500,000 Scoville Units. The Red Caribbean Habanero 
which I sell has been tested at about 475,000 SU. Two years ago I had 
heat testing done on plain orange habaneros and Red Savina and the 
orange were slightly hotter. Heat varies based on growing conditions 
and even from fruit to fruit on the same plant.
