C. pubescens prefers cooler climate than the other 4 domesticated species
of Capsicum, and rocotos do indeed do best of these 5 in cool or even cold
weather.  But, in my experience, they are not particularly hardy to actual
frost.  I think C. baccatum may be the hardiest I've grown in the sense of
living through and productively recovering from frost.
