I remember one Persian place from the '70s that a friend of mine says
was still open and still really blistering in the mid-'90s. It's in
Cambridge, England, just up the road from St. Benet's, and I don't
recall its name. That is quite simply the hottest meal I ever ate, and
I didn't even order the hottest thing on the menu. My tolerance was
admittedly not quite then what it is now, but my friend is a hardcore
chilehead and he had a similar experience. Lovely stuff.
