How about fish emulsion, instead of Miracle Grow? I use it 2 - 3 times/season both foliar feeding and drenching the roots and my chiles produce quite well. (I also dig in compost every year.) The natural process of creating the emulsion seems to benefit the plants more. Just my own experience. Robert.
