First suggestion:  don't go to LA - spend it all in the SF Bay Area

Recommendations:
- Cha Cha Cha - Haight St. - Caribbean - some of the best food I've had
anywhere. Order Tapas rather than main dishes. Let me know and I'll be more
than happy to join you there - it helps to get more different kinds of tapas
- Caffe Sport - Green St. at Columbus - Italian - garlicy and rich. Avoid
"The Stinking Rose" around the corner.
- Teuscher Swiss Chocolates - Grant near Union Square
- Sur La Table - Maiden Lane - the best kitchen goodies store I've ever seen
- Ginger Island - Berkeley 6th St. (or is it 4th?) - interesting fusion
- Chez Panisse - Berkeley - incredible (need reservations for downstairs)
- Top restaurants (though not necessarily hot & all need reservations):
Masa, Aqua, Moose's
