- Ginger Island - Berkeley 6th St. (or is it 4th?) - interesting fusion  It's

I'd like to add my favorite Fringale at 4th and Branan.   Chef Gerald
Hirigoyen was awarded the James Beard award as the most promising young chef
in the US and
 he IS!!!!  You leave this restaurant very satisified quality, quantity and
marvel at how small the bill is.  Yes reservations necessary.  The food is
Southern French Bistro as he is from Bairritz.  I take friends there and even
my friends from Paris rave!  His creme brulee is the best, as is Moules, pork
confit, lamb oh la la --actually we've eaten our way through the menu---
magnifique absolutely flawless.  It is very much a locals place and
fortunately most tourist don't know of it.  It is our treasured secret.

If you get to Napa Valley Cafe Jeuanty is a must.
