[CH] pots/perennials

Read a few postings and noticed in "The Pepper Garden" about 
keeping peppers. In The pepper garden it seemed to me that the
pots were very small.

Last spring I put a Hab and a Chitlepin in 3 gal pots (18in deep)
I transplanted when these plants were about 2 ft tall. The root
balls looked very close to being pot bound. I am wondering
it these plants were moved to a 5 gal bucket, if they would do better ?
