I like to keep things simple also..also inexpensive for my customers.
The simplest and most effective way to go is to start seeds in flats or
containers on top of your refrigerator. This supplies constant heat and
they will germinate very well. As soon as seedlings emerge take them to
a sunny windowsill. Also if you wrap containers with plastic wrap after
watering this will create a "greenhouse effect" and enhance germination.
