If your local grocery has fresh California Dates now like mine does, try this for a great appetizer/snack: Slit the side of each date and remove the pit. Stuff them with cream cheese and sprinkle with the powdered chile of your choice (I used Calvin's). Wonderful stuff. (also good with any other cheese you prefer--goat, cheddar, blue -- or try the same using chunky p-nut butter) Deb in Houston
