Caps,

I was testing my self-control in a half-price book store yesterday, and I
found a Dave DeWitt book I didn't know of. It's titled Hot & Spicy
Mexican, and according to the back cover it's part of a series including
hot & spicy chili, latin dishes, east asian dishes and caribbean (didn't
see the other titles on the shelf).

duck..."

There's a decent section on fish and seafood. Considering how many
freshwater streams and miles of coastline Mexico has, I'm surprised at the
lack of fish found in typical "Mexican" fare as it's known in the US.

There are many little inset quotes and comments. For example, "The
concepts, familiar to Europeans, of fasting and penance were widespread in
Mesoamerica, and without exception the basic penance was to deny oneself
salt and chile." Or my favorite: "If you didn't put chile in it, don't
pretend to know."

How can I top a quote like that?
