Let the sauce age for a while. . .a day, a week, a month. Note the flavor & heat
changes over time.  (Hope you wrote down the basic recipe.)

I felt that I lost control of the heat by adding the seeds. But then, I've
stopped worrying about that because I seldom do the same recipe twice -- there
are just too many variation that sound good.

Lots! And, as The Fates would have it, 'near perfection' is always the batch
when the ingredients were eyeballed and not measured..
