Hi Michael,
           I probably get less frost than you living a bare 5-6 hundred
meters from the beach and 500 kilometers north of you, but those small
upright chiles of mine that you thought may have been a asian hybrid
bred for ease of harvesting have survived several frosts 4-5 years ago
including one day when we had a temperature of -3 degrees centigrade at
5 am here.

p.s. Manzano repotted in larger pot, will go into garden about mid
August. Poblano has 5 flowers on it, erected that shade house beside the
western wall and putting my Chiles to rest for the winter.
