Karen,

FWIW, the hotluck's in Massachusetts are usually held on Sunday, Starting
at about noon or 1PM.  I think Saturday is used by people for other
errands and stuff as many stores are open on Saturday, but closed on
Sunday. 

As an observer of those trying to plan a hotluck (or other get-togethers),
I've noticed that trying to pick a date to make people happy is a fools
errand, you can't please everyone, so just pick a date and stick with it
unless _YOU_ have a problem that requires rescheduling.
