Malt O'Meal can be used for a Gentile's version of Matzo Ball soup - my
Grandmother-in-law (an olde tyme German cook) made it - she called it Farina
Ball Soup. . .get a good chicken stock going, make up the "ball" mix (there
may even be a recipe on the package like in the olde days. . .I think
there's some egg, malt o-meal, & water - enough to make a ball that will
hold together - it should leech the rest of its flavor out of the soup) and
drop them in, simmer gently till cooked through & serve - add peppers to
taste

Several years ago I was headed to Ireland on business. One of the
chile-heads who was online then lived just south of Dublin and told me
about some hot places to eat. She's originally from Brooklyn so I offered
to bring her things from the states if she wanted me to. She asked for
"Malt O' Meal"! Beats me if she spiced it up or not. On a subsequent trip
I also carried a bathroom scale that measured in pounds... Are you still
on the chile-heads conference Diane? If so, she may have some suggestions
on the Malt-O-Meal side!
