The Maryland State Chili Championship has moved to the parking lot of the
Hard Times Cafe in Columbia, Maryland. It will be held next Saturday, June
5 from noon until 4 PM. Admission is free and there will be food, music,
crafts, karate and gymnastics demos, etc. A mere $3 donation allows you to
sample all of the chilis and get a free beverage as well. All proceeds go
to the Howard County Association of Retarded Citizens. If you're nearby,
please come out and help us have a successful first year in Columbia.

If you would like to judge, just send me a reply and plan to arrive around
1:00....and don't eat any of the chilis prior to judging which begins at
2:00.

If you might like to compete, there will be CASI chili ($20 entry....the top
three Maryland finishers automatically qualify for Terlingua), freestyle
chili ($5), salsa ($5), and jalapeno eating (courage).

To get to the event, take I-95 to MD rt.175W, turn left on Dobbin Road, and
follow signs to Lakeside Retail (about .5 mi). Hope to see you there and
meet you in person.
