My jalapenos (in Iowa) have often had one side turn dark-not spoiled but just dark. I finally quit worrying about it and went ahead and used them. Never did give much thought to what it might be. Not nearly as worriesome as the funny dark things inside the Habaneros that looks like mold. Joanne
