I wouldn't know if this is a common problem or if my ducks are just decidedly different, but I've found that my ducks absolutely love chiles!!! They eat the chiles right off the plants when I'm not looking...

Well, if you don't mind a new pet, get a duck. They are a slug-seeking
missile that never misses. I realize that this is not an option for most
people, but if you live in a semi-rural environment a duck is a handy
critter to have around.
