Curt, several ideas for you:
- Chile mosaics - have people bring in artwork made from chiles.
- Scoville ratings - arrange for testing of chiles that people bring in, or
stage a real Scoville testing - see who can rate the heat of various
dilutions.
- Odd chile cooking contest - make and judge foods which one does not
normally connect to chiles, like ice cream, strudel, etc.
- Match the fresh chile to the dried chile
- Guess how many seeds are in the chile - win a bottle of sauce
- Match the chile to the country of origin
