Well, I found a pretty good way to dry chile's, herbs, etc. I used those trays with the mesh bottom that you get at the garden shops when you buy bedding plants. Wash them, fill them with whatever you want to dry, cris cross stack them, toss a paper towel over them and stick them in the attic of your house for about a week. It's works about like putting them in a kiln.
