Very many plants that are thought to only come from seed or grafting can
be produced by cuttings and/or air layering. At times rooting hormones,
heat, aging, misting and other 'tricks' are necessary.

Your chile plants should work quite well as they are much softer. Here
in Florida I have seen a few plants that were several years old begin to
look definitely 'woody'. :)
