With explosive results :-)  Most chiles have way too much water for the
paper towels to absorb.  The seeds are also prone to heating and
bursting, much like popcorn.  Pretty messy and will drive you out pretty
quick.  If the pod is not slit first, it too will burst impressively. 
Just use your oven set on a low temp & be patient.  I have some drying
as we 'speak'.

BTW- anyone know where I can find about 30 pepper pickers?  (rhetorical,
sarcastic question- no reply necessary)  Right now I'd settle for ONE-
other than me!!  What a way to spend my vacation.....
