I live on the west coast (almost as far west as you can go without running
out of land...B-) ) - I grow peppers without any problem, but I grow them in
the back of my house so the house protects the plants from direct wind, etc
from the ocean - also, my soil has a tendency to be sandy, so I work compost
into the soil to give it more nutrients, etc & water faithfully - my biggest
problem(s) are the pests like moles who like to eat the roots (I have
chicken wire under the dirt to thwart this) and snails & slugs who love to
munch on the leaves

Hi everyone!
I'm Myron and I live in Daytona Beach FL ("World's Most Famous
Beach!").
I live about 300 yds. from the ocean (I'm looking at it, as I
type!).
My problem: I cannot grow peppers! In fact, I haven't had much luck
with herbs either! Is it the salt air....combination of air and humidity?
Are there varieties of chiles which lend themselves to this type of climate?
