Hi Joe

I would tend to agree with Doug - see your GP. The capsaicin released
by chilis may irritate the mouth/oesophagus or stomach, depending on
tolerance but should not affect the lower bowel to such an extent.
I am becoming more tolerant to chili heat but have never experienced
any pain in this region. How long do the symptoms last? Are you sure
that you are not confusing this pain with indigestion?
