Alex,
I run my anchos through the grinder attachment of my kitchen aid mixer. I
fist soak the dried pods in warm water for a couple hours then drain 'em
'n' grind 'em, makes an awesome enchilada sauce. 

To purchase a grinder, you might try a restaurant supply store, they may
have a good used one.
