Doug, Keith et al.

No I am not really satisfied with the answer.

Here is why. ~ I had the same ans from County agent.

In some 10 F'n weeks of rain, I did a little "Playing" with some Jals.

I set up 6ea 3 gal pots. (no more room in GH)

2 plants I feed full strength MG ~ 1 tbsp per gal.
2 Plants 1 tsp per gal of MG
2 Plants MG's seed start 4-12-4.

If the reduction was somewhere near, the 1 tsp per gal should have been
close to 5-12-5. ~ correct.
And 4-12-4, should not be enough difference that without fancy equipment I
should not be able to tell the difference.

This very limited in scope, I'll admit.

All plants were feed every 1 pint every 2 weeks.

After 10 weeks, Both the 1 tsp and 1 tbsp of 15-35-15 look the same. That is
leaf to leaf spacing, and plant height, number of blossoms and loaded with
aphids.

The 4-12-4 plants are a little smaller, the leaf to leaf spacing is less,
No aphids, 4x as many blossoms started. Thicker stems.

Something doesn't add up. What ??
