In my experience, tomatillos don't work in pots, they stay spindly. I don't
see why you were told to keep them away from tomatoes, it makes no sense.
Tomatillos are a bit more fragile in the beginning than tomatoes, but end up
being less so, and mine produce until a hard freeze, a couple months after
the totmatoes have quit.
