Pods,

No problem with squirrels around my apartment garden, but we do have an
adorably cute sweet lovely little fuzzy rabbit that has reduced a few
cayennes and sunflowers to stems. The damage was coming in fast, like two
plants lost between noon and suppertime. So I put a heavy dusting of red
pepper powder (actually, "Red Chilly" from an Indian grocery) on the soil
and the foliage. That seemed to stop the damage.

Two or three days later, I noticed foliar damage from contact with the
powder. Some leaves were discolored, similar to the look of TMV, and some
actually had perforations. I had no idea that pepper powder could injure
leaves like that.

Oh well, the damage isn't as bad as what the rabbit was doing.

We need to find someone who leases out hawks, or maybe pythons.
