In South Africa there is a culinary delight called a Mopane worm. A type of caterpillar. Grows to the size of a typical tomato worm thing. Looks as yuck, too. Anyway, it is dried and eaten as a meat (understand stew) supplement. Gaining interest as a "cultural" food. Never had it myself.
