You and me both Tara. As you know I also have the fair skin of our
Celtic ancestors.
The red hair and freckles are no joke at times.

I lost some seedlings last season by leaving them exposed to the sun
through the window one afternoon. It pays to keep them shaded when first
taking them outside.

My seeds are starting to sprout indoors so must decide to rip out last
years plants with peppers still on them. The plants in my leanto I have
pruned back severely and they are putting out fresh growth already. I
may leave two or three which are now beginning their third season. 
I have a few aphids on the indoor plants but seem to get no aphid
problem outdoors.
