Sorry, Riley, I wasn't being cagey at all, I'm just suffering from
early-onset Alzheimers (I'm just waiting for the email from Doug on this
one....;-) ) and couldn't remember what brand it was.

I got off my butt and looked it up. In Australia, I think it's the
Breville 350, but I found it on the Breville UK site as the Breville
classique blender. It's commonly available in the US, UK, Europe and
Australia to the best of my knowledge. It's not cheap, I warn you (I
paid Au$180, and I note it's ST69.99), but it has a solid base, solid
glass bowl, commercial strength motor, and I'll swear by it.
