Habaneros can get pot bound in a 5 gal pot that's 30" deep in a 4 month
growing season.

Me thinks that ye should look at maybe a 10 gal garbage pail for that long
of a life span.

Some of my own experiences even in my short growing season,  Cayanne and
Bolivan Rainbows do better in the ground than in 3 gal pots,  Habs,
Purria's,  Country Girls
Peter Peppers, did much better in the soil than they did in 5 gal pots.  Pod
size and quantity, and plant size were all reduced in pots vs field.

OH won't let me bring 10 gal pails of dirt and plants into house.  Oh well

Yes, it had been transplanted to progressively bigger pots every year and at
the end resided in a huge one....24 inches wide and 24 inches deep.
