I would think people would love a purple jalapeno.  People like colorful
food, and very few foods are purple (let's see...  Grape Kool-Aid,
Eggplant, Peruvian Purple chiles...)

Of course it wouldn't sell as well as green ones.  But neopolitain ice
cream doesn't sell as well as vanilla, either, and many people buy it.
