Dewi,

Here's some stuff on types from the last 3 days of CH email:

http://www.uni-bamberg.de/~ba3sw1/gar/capsicum.html

http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~gcaselton/chile/variety.html

NMSU's Chile Pepper Institute (CPI):

A searchable base of their (mainly Dr. Paul W. Bosland's) book:
"Capsicum: A Comprehensive Bibliography, Fifth Edition"

And their library:

I posted the following a couple of years ago,
and here it is again.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service
(ARS) funds the National Seed Storage Laboratories (NSSL).
http://www.ars-grin.gov/npgs/rephomepgs.html

NSSL stores the base collection of the
National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS)
which keeps track of it all with the
Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN),
a web server which provides germplasm information
about plants, animals, microbes and invertebrates.

You can get (or have one of the chile-heads in the USA get)
seeds for you.
http://www.ars-grin.gov/npgs/orders.html

Here's a quick overview from Fort Collins, CO.
http://www.ars-grin.gov/ars/NoPlains/FtCollins/preserve/tour/Prestour.htm

For info on the rest of the 3000 Capsicum varieties
not listed below, from the same Ft Collins NSSL spot,
you can email one of its 2 directors.
http://www.ars-grin.gov/ars/NoPlains/FtCollins/admin/administration.htm

And you can email Paul Bosland.
