You've probably had a reply to this, but that is true, so long as your
card is linked to one of the international networks such as Cirrus etc.
My husband often withdrew money from his Chevy Chase Bank account here
in Oz, in Oz dollars, during the time he worked in the US. Exchange
rates of the day applied, of course, and you may find you pay a
transaction fee for each withdrawal. Check with your bank about that.
You may also find that it only works in ATMs, and not via EFTPOS, but I
can't guarantee that.
Suz, Myron, I had dinner in the Tapas place I told you about again on
Friday. The sign out he front says Flamenco Viva, and four plates of
Tapas (almost more than we could eat), a bottle of wine, coffee and a
liquer came to Au$50. That's about $22 US, and is very cheap for a
restaurant meal, even in local currency. And great food, too!
