Chile grande is a tapered chile, ca. 2 inches long, one inch across at the
top, hot and good flavored. I think Dewi got her seeds from me or Rob
Pieters, and he may have gotten them from me. Excellent chile, but my
chile grande seeds didn't germinate this year, alas. It's not a
hybrid. Margaret L

Hi Pods,
A number of you have sent me seeds. The Rocotos from Cameron, the
Fatalis from Alex in NY, the Aji Amarillos from Calvin in Texas all
germinate and thrive. Thank you for the seeds and the knowledge.
Miss Dewi sent me a number of varieties--they all germinated except for
the Mushrooms, so far. I have one plant from last year (from The
ChileWoman, Susan Byers) so not too concerned.
One of the types Miss Dewi sent was a "chile grande". A quick search
didn't turn up a reference to it. Neither did I find it at
ChileWoman's nor Cross Country. Anyone know what it is? Possibly a
hybrid which won't breed true? Germinated quite easily.
Thanks all,
Riley
