The first annual Minnesota West Side Food with an Attitude Hotluck came and
went. We had our first 80 deg day in 7 months ( this is Minnesota you know
)so we set up on the porch and enjoyed the food and sun outside.
We had an attendance of 43 people a nice mix of chiliheads, homebrewers
and the curious. There was a tasting of 12 different sauces, 4 different
salsas and 3 styles of pickled peppers that were donated by 17 different
companies so we could put a taste with their bottles. Their generosity
included door prizes of their products, which was another reason the dinner
was a great time had by all.
Through out the day we collected $152.00 for a local charity Sharing and
Caring Hands who help the homeless.
Now the hotluck, it was a FEAST consisting of crock-pots of....
        2 styles of stuffed jalipenos
        1 style of stuffed poblano
        chicken mole
        tequila chicken
        3 styles of chicken wings
        2 types chiles
1 south west style cole slaw
1 big plate of Mexican style tacos
fruit and habanero jam over cream cheese
        habanero chocolate chip cookies
        habanero chocolate ice cream
        Mexican salad
Smoked oysters and escargot in mushroom caps fresh off the grill.

The day was a great success because of a lot of people donating their time,
food and products.
Check out the web site ( still under construction but there is some things
to look at )
