A co-worker, twenty-something, is an aspiring chef who has received rave
reviews on the Friday munchies he brings. He, being a bit of an aspiring
CH, asked me where he might find chipotle powder for a dry rub he was
working on. I volunteered to grind him a couple tablespoons from my
private reserve of chipotles. After grinding, I put the spice in a ziplock
bag and put it in my lunchbox so I wouldn't forget it. The next morning I
put a couple of freshly washed Granny Smith apples in my lunchbox next to
the ziplock of chipotle powder. The bag must have had a small leak because
the first apple I grabbed had a light dusting of chipotle powder. Wow,
what a combination! The sweet tartness of the Granny Smith and the smoky
heat of the chipotle is enough to make a body thank God for tastebuds.
Enjoy!
