Mine was much different than Risa's, and much to our surprise, we still
have another meal outta this one!
1 large green bell pepper(this one weighed over 8 ozs)
5 ozs ground beef
5 ozs ground pork
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 cup of orzo, cooked and drained, then cooled
1 jalapeno, chopped
1/2 white onion, chopped fine
salt & pepper & Jim's smoked hab powder to taste

Cut the pepper in half, lengthwise, remove veins and seeds, and blanch
in boiling water, drain and cool.. Mix the remaining ingredients
togerther well, and let this mixture sit to meld the flavours. When
the orzo is cool, mix it in with the meat. Drain and dry the green
peppers, (Sorry, Green!!)( I know ya love these things!!!) and stuff the
halves with the above filling. Now....you can make your own tomato
sauce, or like I did tonight, open a can of Hunts(tm) Italian tomato
sauce, doctor it with a fresh peeled tomato, fresh rosemary, which we
have growing on our deck, and fresh parsley, likewise, and pour this
over the stuffed pepper halves. Place in the oven at 350F for about 45
minutes, and serve. I did this with fresh steamed broccoli, and as
usual, got raves from the one who matters most! But of course, after 52
years, that poor kid, doesnt know any better!!! Cheers, Doug in BC
