Your chances, I'd say, are excellent. Chiles are quite resilient. They would have recovered even without having been staked. Of course, all of this is based on the assumption that the stalk did not break or snap. As Andrew Healy is fond of quoting in his sig line 'that which does not kill, makes stronger'.
