Suz,

1st clues,  missing leaves and spots of green stuff on the leaves and
ground, a little smaller  wood pencil eraser.  Green stuff ~ tech ~ frass
Non-tech  catapillar sh-t.

Best way to find in day time Get right down on the ground and look up under
the leaves and stems.

OR  go out at night with flashlight
should be able to find on leaf edges.

You can pick them off,  or for a non-toxic pesticide you could use
Bt.

Yup they will go for your peppers too.

Does anyone have tips on how to spot the horned worms?  One or more of these
fellows wrecked havoc on my tomato plants today, and since the tomato plants
are only a foot away from my peppers, I have reason to be concerned.

Generally I have been able to find them by following the path of
destruction, but these guys are hiding real well.
