   Heart shaped sounds like Ancho chiles, especially if they taste
better.  If you bought the plant it might have been mislabeled.  If
you grew from seeds you saved from an F1 hybrid they probably
didn't grow true to the parent plant.

   Almost all chiles will cross breed.  Except for C. pubescens,
like rocotos.  C. baccatum will cross, but the offspring are said to
be sterile.
