Are there any Brits out there?

I've just joined and have a couple of UK-related questions.

1. Is it possible to grow chiles in the UK? I have a small raised deck
(no soil, would have to be in pots or troughs) and a glass roofed...
erm... lean-to at the back of my house. Both are south facing and get
bundles of sun in the summer, but can get pretty chilly (snik) in the
winter. I have a particular fondness for Jalapenos BTW.

2. Is there anywhere in the UK where I can buy canned whole or halfed
jalapenos?
