[CH] Christmas peppers

I thought you all would get a kick out of this!  I have a houseplant book
that, though outdated, I love dearly.  I was given a pod from a Christmas
pepper (actually I found out it's the Variegated Flash with non-ripe peppers
being purple colored) so I looked it up to see if there were any tips on
starting from seed.  No tips but I found part of the description funny.

"These Christmas Peppers have been bred from Chili and Cayenne peppers, so
the ornamental fruits are definitely not for eating as they are fiery."

I thought that was the point of peppers? LOL!  Do many of you use these
peppers at all to spice up your winter dishes?  Are they worth having
around?
