My mom's been adding a few shakes of cayenne to
every batch of gravy (beef/turkey/chicken/lamb) she
makes.  Been doing it for more years than I've been
alive.  You don't taste the heat so much, but yeah, it
brings the whole thing together, and you can tell if
it's been left out.
